Class 12 tutoring is stream-led. PCM students need a Maths specialist plus a Physics or Chemistry specialist — often both. PCB students need Biology and Chemistry support, sometimes Physics. Commerce students need Accountancy and Economics, sometimes Business Studies. English is the third subject across all streams. Past-paper practice from October onwards is where the engagement starts shifting toward execution. Recent year board papers, sample papers from the board's website, and structured chapter tests become the core material. The tutor marks every paper carefully, identifies recurring mistakes (missing steps, calculation errors, weak diagrams, sloppy presentation), and uses those mistakes as the plan for the next sessions. Past-paper practice without marking is wasted effort; we expect tutors to treat the marking and follow-up as the central work of the engagement, not the assigning.

Written-answer polish is the part most Class 12 families underestimate. A student who knows the content but cannot lay out a complete multi-part answer loses marks consistently. In Maths and Physics, this means stepwise solutions without skipped working. In Biology, well-labelled diagrams and detailed theory. In Accountancy, clean ledger entries and properly formatted balance sheets. In English, structured analytical answers with clear introductions and conclusions. From November onwards we expect tutors to dedicate significant session time to written practice, not just oral discussion.

By February, the brief tilts into mock-paper review, mistake retirement, and confidence management. Sessions slow from three or four a week to two or three. The final fortnight is a tapering window: protect sleep, finalise the mistake-log, walk through one calmer past paper a day or two before the actual exam, and avoid stacking new chapter work. Calm, well-rested, focused execution consistently beats exhausted cramming. By the time the paper arrives, the student should be confident, not depleted.

A well-run Class 12 engagement is undramatic by design. By month three the student is working on the priority subjects earlier in the evening, attempting full questions in writing, reviewing past mistakes instead of moving on, and asking sharper questions about exam pattern and answer structure. Marks tend to follow these habits — particularly through the pre-board and board papers.
